MMN sees beautification and restoration efforts as complementary actions to the litter prevention work we do. Both conservation strategies have the same end goal of helping our ecosystems thrive in a clean, healthy habitat.
As such, MMN partners with the County of Maui, other nonprofits, businesses, community groups, and individuals to respond to identified needs within our public spaces to remove invasive species, plant natives, and assist in property maintenance to make for a healthier ‘āina for all of us to enjoy.
Here are some examples of the types of beautification projects in which we participate. Historically, MMN has played a significant role in the maintenance of Lā‘ie and Kanahā Beach Park, which is why they are highlighted below. Interested in this type of volunteer work? Contact us!
