Kihei White Goods Collection
In response to the recent storm impacts across Maui, Mālama Maui Nui is hosting a Kīhei White Goods Collection event to support our community in safely and responsibly disposing of damaged household appliances.
We will be accepting white goods such as refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers, and other large household appliances affected by the storm. This effort helps prevent illegal dumping, protects our ʻāina, and keeps our neighborhoods clean and safe.
Important:
Please ensure that all appliances are completely emptied of any food, liquids, or debris prior to drop-off. This is critical for health, safety, and proper handling.
Mahalo for doing your part to mālama our island—together, we can restore and care for our communities in times of need.
If you would like to be a volunteer, please sign up here! We appreciate your willingness to kokua.

Volunteers will hand-clear dry grass using gas-powered weed whackers and then dispose of greenwaste in a centrally located dumpster. This is a physically demanding activity that requires the use of power tools/other tools.
Kalama Beach Clean-up
Mālama Maui Nui is proud to partner with Maui Surfrider for a community beach clean-up focused on protecting our ocean, reefs, and coastlines. Marine debris doesn’t belong in our waters or on our shores. Join us as we work together to mālama ʻāina and kai, remove harmful debris, and show up for the places that sustain us all.
Lāʻie Makai Wetlands Clean-up
Join Mālama Maui Nui for a wetland restoration workday in Lā‘ie focused on the removal of invasive plant species that threaten the health of this important ecosystem. Wetlands are essential to water quality, native biodiversity, and cultural landscapes, and active stewardship is key to their long-term resilience.
Volunteers will assist with hands-on invasive species removal and restoration activities that help create space for native plants to thrive. This workday offers an opportunity to learn about wetland ecology, the impacts of invasive species, and our shared kuleana to mālama ʻāina through action.
All tools and supplies will be provided. Volunteers should come prepared with water, sun protection, closed-toe shoes, and a readiness to work together in service of the land. Together, we can support the healing and restoration of this special place for future generations.
